Blog #1 for HONO1397

 Dear blog…?

I will be honest I don’t really know how to begin one of these, nevertheless who to address but I know that my job here today is discuss my sleep so, here we go.

This week has been a pretty normal week as far as school life goes but an abnormal week as far as my personal life. I began having trouble with my girlfriend who I’ve been with for over two years now and it has been harder to focus on my school and work because of it, and of course, it has taken a toll on my sleep as well. I don’t usually sleep late but recently I’ve been going to bed well past midnight. It may be that my mind is so fixated on trying to fix my issues with my significant other or maybe it’s just my body not being tired because I messed up my sleep schedule over the break and have not attempted to fix it at all (lol). Whatever the case, I know that my sleep is taking a bit of a toll but not to the point where I’m stacking up immense amounts of sleep debt. Here I have a screenshot of my weekly sleep schedule which includes a slight description of the night, what time I went to bed, and what time I woke up:

So as you can see, since things haven’t gone too well with my (ex) girlfriend, my sleep schedule did change rather much. Hopefully, God willing, the Lord can ease my mind and let me sleep through the storm that I’m currently going through, but if not I will keep you posted on how many sleepless nights I can go through as I drown in my own pitiful sorrow and/or bawl my eyes out until I am forced to sleep like a newborn child (this is a joke, of course… or is it?)

  1. You've done great here for Blog 1 in tracking your week of sleep and thinking about how much sleep you got each night based on when you fell asleep and woke up. It's not easy to keep diaries like this long-term in such detail, but it is enlightening when you consider why you may not be feeling well or what may have impacted the ability to sleep. Even when you're exhausted, emotional stress or other mental conflicts can keep one tossing and turning. Hope you're doing okay.

  2. I can 100% agree that after the break my sleep schedule was all off and I didn't attempt to fix it in the first weeks we were back on campus. After looking at your weekly sleeping schedule, I can testify that I go to bed around these times as well. Should that be changed for myself?
    Most definitely.
