Blog #14 for HONO1397
Dear blogger,
Over the spring break I was able to finally catchup on some very much needed sleep from the sleep debt I had accumulated during school. It wasn’t so rewarding however because along with the longer sleeping sessions there were also a lot of days where I stayed up late as well, not going to bed until 3 am or so. So as I’m typing this I’m not so sure that I actually did catch up on sleep haha. Either way, I found myself needing a lot of sleep during this break. Part of it could because of my exercise program that I am doing. It was an 8 week program with a max out week at the end of week 8 which happened to be during spring break. There was a lot of heavy lifting and a lot of strain that I put my body through. I know from learning in class that my body needs a lot of rest to recover from such strains and extreme physical activity, especially if the activities are a daily thing.
This week was necessary for me mentally. I needed a break from school and assignments and tests and this week off helped me recover in all aspects of health so I hope to come back to classes this week with a better attitude and to finish the semester off strong!
I am glad to hear you've put some of what you've learned into practice regarding the body's recovery and human growth hormone production, which occurs during deep sleep. Spring break is a beautiful thing for people who are allowed the opportunity to relieve a bit of their sleep debt.
