Bloggers, COVID-19 this, COVID-19 that, COVID-19 blah blah blah. Haven’t we already heard enough of  COVID to the point where we just want to pack it all up, drive to the nearest cliff with a sea at the bottom of it, and throw it as far and long as we can??? Yeah well too bad because we can’t, so here’s more COVID related stuff that’ll make you angry for sure because you probably got COVID because you suck at sleeping. So here we go: Throughout the pandemic there wasn’t only a decrease in sleep but an increase as well. How? Let me explain: a researched that was performed by an online survey studied the sleep behaviors of various individuals of many ethnicities, genders, and ages, and it was determined that despite the pandemic causing many to stay home for work, there was several results and outcomes from it and it resulted in three primary patterns. 1. Longer time in bed resulted in later wake up times. 2. Less time in bed resulted in later bed times and earlier wake up times. 3. Phas

My dearest bloggers, It is with great grief that I share these news with you all… last week there was a detrimental and quite difficult loss for myself. You see, I was going about my daily routines and nightly adventures with friend and foe when I found myself attached to a televisor screen for an innumerable amount of hours at a time, playing what they call “Vanguard.”  As the nights went on and as the rounds of caffeinated energy drinks were passed one after the other, that is when the incident happened. I found myself losing precious and unrecoverable hours of sleep that I knew I’d pray the price for… and so I have. I became indebted with reclaiming those lost hours of sleep at the time where my presence was needed in the busy passages of Gates Hall and in some cases during a video graphic lecture in a place known from most as “Zoom.” My dearest blogger, I write to you with regret, a mind filled with folly, and belches with the aftertaste of the delicious fruit punch flavored energ

Hello blog! For today’s talk, we will be discussing what we have been going over in class as well as what we have been learning about through our assigned readings. At a glance, we began discussing the fact that sleep isn’t just a stage of being awake and then being unawake. As we are preparing to go to bed after a lengthy day, we go through various sleep stages in which our bodies’ s brain wave activity slowly begins to decrease. We measure the brain activity and base the stages off of the amplitude and frequency of these brain waves. The first stage is considered the awake stage, which is where we can find the beta waves. Amplitude is low in this stage and the frequency is high, and we’re looking at about 15-30 waves per second. The next stage we go through is stage 2 which is the alpha waves stage. 8-13 w/s and in this stage we are still slightly awake but we are now in a relaxed state. The following stage, which is the theta waves (or stage 3), is where the frequency is now relati

Dear blog…? I will be honest I don’t really know how to begin one of these, nevertheless who to address but I know that my job here today is discuss my sleep so, here we go. This week has been a pretty normal week as far as school life goes but an abnormal week as far as my personal life. I began having trouble with my girlfriend who I’ve been with for over two years now and it has been harder to focus on my school and work because of it, and of course, it has taken a toll on my sleep as well. I don’t usually sleep late but recently I’ve been going to bed well past midnight. It may be that my mind is so fixated on trying to fix my issues with my significant other or maybe it’s just my body not being tired because I messed up my sleep schedule over the break and have not attempted to fix it at all (lol). Whatever the case, I know that my sleep is taking a bit of a toll but not to the point where I’m stacking up immense amounts of sleep debt. Here I have a screenshot of my weekly sleep
